This wine is a pure picture of 2024 in the Willamette Valley. It’s a blend of the vineyards we work with and love: Carlton Hill, Pelos Sandberg, La Cantera, and Sojeau. That means Eola-Amity Hills, Yamhill-Carlton, and Chehalem Mountains all showing up in one bottle. The idea behind This Must Be The Place has always been simple: make honest, delicious Willamette Valley wine that feels like home.
Aromas lean into dried strawberry, sour cherry, white pepper, and that damp Oregon earth you smell near a lake as you come out of the woods, plus a little ink-like edge. The palate is a berry medley at the farmers market when everything is ripe and perfect, with marionberry, tarragon, and pink peppercorn woven through. It’s vivid, pure, and expressive, finishing with restraint and grace.
