2023 REDOLENT CARLTON HILL PINOT NOIR - $40
Above the towns of Yamhill and Carlton grows the stunning 11-acre Carlton Hill Vineyard. Planted in 1999, this vineyard is planted with a pure eastern sun exposure, somewhat noteworthy for Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. We work with the classic Willamette Valley clones of Pommard and Wädenswil from this site, and it always produces a distinctively superlative Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir.
Aromas of bramble fruit, wild plum, lavender, and forest floor, accented by sarsaparilla. The palate carries a vivid interplay of ripe wild strawberry and blood orange tones, framed by savory herbs and a refined edge of minerality. Bright acidity keeps the wine taut and energetic, while subtle, well-knit tannins extend the finish with both finesse and quiet persistence.
